Do protein shakes and muscle supplements have negative effects?

On your body? I dont use them but I know people who do.

well I’m sure a big mac would do much more damage to your health than either of those things. protein shakes are very good for you on their own, and not harmful at all. some people choose not to supplement because it’s not natural, but what’s "natural" these days? I use creatine at the begining of my workout and Glutamine at the end.

I don’t think so. Only steroids do.

I have been taking protein shakes for the last 2 years, so far I don’t see any negative side effect.

The only way they would be considered harmful is if they contained creatine, and were being overused. Other than that, they are just added calories in a diet, meant to be taken after a very hard workout.
