Women take prenatal vitamins but do men need to take anything?

So we need to take prenatal vitamins before we try to conceieve but Should my husband take anything to help his sperm count? should he do anything in particular when we are trying to get pregnant?

hi its good for him to start taking good multivitamin, start eating right(if he isn't already lol) and keep aways from drugs alcohol and hot tubs.. znc is also a great supplement for men to take as it helps with sperm count too and so is vitamin c.. heres some info about zinc…..

Zinc (15 – 30mg/day): This mineral is important for maintaining the production of testosterone in men. Low levels of zinc can also affect sperm count and motility. In women, zinc helps the body use estrogen and progesterone more efficiently. Meat and seafood are the best sources of this mineral but it can also be found in whole grains and wheat germ.
As important as this mineral is, it’s vital that you don’t take too much. High levels of zinc can be toxic as well as counterproductive in your efforts to aid conception. A well-balanced diet is usually sufficient to maintain zinc levels. However, if you are thinking of taking a zinc supplement, consult your doctor first so that you can be sure you receive the correct amount.

Well of course a good diet is always good. Stay away from caffeine and smoking and such.
There are vitamins for men to take. I forget what web site I found them on. If you google it I'm sure it will come up. Good luck!

Its not a bad idea for a man to take a multivitamin but it is not required… the only thing they say to do is to avoid alcohol and things that mat affect the sperm count.

Good luck trying to conceive…. Baby Dust your way.

I have my hubby on Fertilaid for Men and a zinc supplement. It is supposed to keep the sperm count and motility healthy.

He should wear some loose fitting underwear. That's about it. We tried for 1 month and we got pregnant quickly.

My partner and I have been trying for our first baby for over 4 years now and have yet to be successful. We have undergone several rounds of IVF and each time the embryo was rejected by my body. I have tried several other alternative remedies such as the miracleofpregnancy.com which was useful but did not work for us. A friend of ours whom is in a similar position has tried the Pregnancy Miracle which has worked for them on the first attempt, we are really happy for them both as they too have been trying for nearly as long as ourselves. Has anyone else ever tried this or is it just coincidence do you think?
