I have just started taking some men’s multi-vitamins and my urine is like fluro yellow?
is this normal? i kinda feel like i’m losing all the ‘goodness’ when i pee. is this correct? Is it a waste of time me taking these vitamins? It isn;t painful and is no different in any way to normas, except for the colour.
B-complex vitamins, which are probably part of your multivitamin, cause fluorescent-yellow urine. It’s a little scary, isn’t it? I take B-complex vitamins and it’s always a little unnerving to see that neon-bright yellow stuff in the toilet.
Yes, you are excreting the B vitamins in your urine; B2 is usually the culprit. However, you are excreting the vitamins that your body doesn’t need; consider it "spillover" from what your body has already absorbed. Some vitamins contain up to 2000% of the RDA for the B complexes, so it’s normal to have that spillover.
Taking multivitamins, if your physician has recommended it, is not a waste of time. Be sure to eat healthy as well while you’re taking the vitamins; vitamins aren’t a substitute for proper nutrition.

The colour is caused by the B group vitamins, and your body is disposing of them because it doesnt need them. A reasonable diet will provide all the vitamins your body needs, vitamin supplements are only useful if you have some dietary deficiency or medical condition.
